After school pick up and occassional school holidays

Have been asked to pick up a child after school and occasional school holidays.
How would I go about this? Say mum takes half term off but wants me to have then in 6 weeks holidays.
Do I do full time contract and charge as I would normally for child being taken out of my care coz parent has holiday?

Advice please.

It depends on the age of the child but I would probably do an ad hoc contract so it's a bonus when they need you but you are free to fill the space if something more permanent comes along. Having said that I find now so many parents are on zero hour contracts that I have quite a few families that are on ad hoc but I somehow manage to keep them all on!! It's a case of having more children but different ones a lot of the time (different mix of same children).

If I had space I would offer to just charge when child comes ... but it would depend on space, other children, the child and if it suited me

I have a few families on a term time only contract with AdHoc through school hols. This works well for me :-)
