    Default Funny hours

    Evening all.

Need a bit of advice. Had a parent contact me asking if I have space for her lo 3 days a week 11-2. I do have this space. My only thing that stops me is the starting time is middle of the morning. I do a school drop off every morning and always plan to go out from there. Then back in afternoon for lunch and naps. It would stop me from going to tot groups or limit my time out at parks for my other lo. The lo would take up my last ey space on those three days for just three hours. Do I turn down work or take it and could stop better work? One of the hard decisions in this job.

Could I request she drops off for 8.30 for lo to fit in my day and enjoy time out with us?

    Would appreciate any advice

    Hello

Ultimately, you need to do what feels right for you and your business.

The way I would decide whether to take on the business is as follows:-

Do I need the money? - if so, this would be a major factor as the final full time eyfs child may never come along and the fee you gain from these hrs (however short) may help.

Are there any alternative groups/clubs I could go to during the hrs the lo is present in place of the ones I currently do? - If not, can I substitute with walks, park visits etc.

You are not obliged to accept them - so if it doesn't work for you, don't be afraid to say no. You could always tell them what you can offer and go from there.

    Good luck

HI, personally I would rather not take the child on at those start times as it would limit I can do with current mindees especially during summer holls etc you could not go out for the day etc. If I was to offer place I would charge for a mim of 6 hours as they are taking up a whole day space.

Thank you for your advice. I have messaged to say lo would have to start at 8.30 for her to fit in with routine. It also is term time only to, so not as straight forward! Not jumping at the job but have offered. I love looking after children but the business side I find a struggle .

    Your better off without tbh

I guess it would have been no fee until the hours she wanted?

You'll fill the space soon enough x
