    Default DBS fees

    Hi I am new And I am applying to become a childminder assistant I want to know who should pay for the DBS the childminder with whom I am going to work needs me for backs up while the other assistant is away please let me know as soon as possible as I need to submit my form tomorrow many thanks.     Hi,
    I'm pre-reg myself and only really learning from things I've picked up on here - so by no means an expert!
    I would hazard a guess that if you are going to be employed by the Childminder then perhaps they should pay for your DBS. However, if you going to be self-employed/work for other settings too then it would make sense to pay for and 'own' your own DBS. Just a thought - as I say, I'm new to everything myself too!!
