christmas fees
What do you charge your mindees over the xmas holidays.
-
If I am available to work I charge their normal contracted fee, whether they come or not.
If I am not available for work I do not charge - I am not available Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
-
Bank hols + Xmas Eve closed and no charge.
All the rest- open as usual and normal fees.
If I was taking annual leave that would be 50% fees, but I am not this time.
-
I finish up on the 20th so I don't charge for Christmas as its my holidays but I do charge full fee for New Years Day as im back to work on the 2nd

Depends on what you have in your contracts for holidays. My term time only pays 1/2 normal fee for holidays if I am available so I will not charge for Boxing Day and new years day, as days they should be in, as I am not working.
I always check with schoolies what is required in the holidays and put it in the contract. I have one comes holidays only 12 hours over Mon-Thurs so she will be charged 6 hours as I am available Mon & tues 1st week and 9 hours 2nd week as I am not working new years day. Other schoolie will be charged 9-5 on the Fridays and as they would also be in thurs normally so no fee as I am not available then.

If they attend, I charge normal fees.
If they don't attend, I don't charge. All my contracts include a specified number of weeks/days they can non-attend at no charge, just so long as they give me sufficient notice.

Get this specified and amend the contract asap. If it's not clear, you can 99% expect the client to assume they can have their own way exactly.
