woohooooo Ofsted have been, Outstanding, wwwwhhhhhooooooo!!!
i don't charge a retainer fee for hols as I prefer not to work.
I work out the annual fee then divide over 11 months equally with August payment free OR
divide over 12 months (for parents who wish to spread payments) but they sign a form to say they understand that if they leave before the end of full academic year that the underpayment for care will be calculated and they will owe this amount with the last payment.
If you want to charge a retainer, half fees is normal or you could charge a higher hourly rate to offer t-time only?
good luck with your meeting.
if you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got
I do charge a small retainer for holidays as I'm open all year round.
If you don't want to charge (or they don't want to pay) a retainer then a slightly higher hourly rate is a good option.
If I was doing that I'd always ask them to pay September's fees before the schools break up in July in case they changed their mind over the holidays then I'm not out of pocket.
Good luck lizzy - hope you get it
