Default Penny Tassoni's Practical EYFS Handbook

    Has anyone got this book?

I constantly feel that I'm not doing my planning and observations as well as I could and when I was browsing on Amazon I saw this book and thought it looked as if it could be quite helpful.

Would you advise buying it though bearing in mind the EYFS is changing in September - is it going to be inaccurate and no longer useful?

I don't have a copy but I understand the book is very helpful to a lot of people.

Some elements of the Eyfs might change - but if you need guidance now then surely now is the time to buy?

I have a copy. I don't particularly like the type of observation methods she looks at in the book, but that is just me. I like the way it is set out into the areas of learning and gives ideas for age appropriate activities for each aspect. If the EYFS does change in Sept 2012 (which it will) then you can still use the ideas for the acitivities - they are all quite simple ideas.

Cazz why not see if you can borrow one from your library then you can have a good look at it before you decide whether to buy.

I had no idea EYFS was changing in 2012. What are they going to do?

Final details not known yet - the aim is to simplify it.

If you google Ticknell report you'll find some info
