the first page of my welcome pack is an all about me page which is just an introduction really about the service i offer and my experience etc.

i also have example menus, typical days.

all the policies and boring stuff etc are tucked away in the back! lol

When parents come for a first visit, I give them a pack containing:

About Me (a bit about me, how long I've been minding, qualifications etc)
My contact details (home phone, mobile & email)
Hours of work, fees, payment for holidays etc
    Example of our daily routine
What I provide, what parents need to provide
List of policies they will be given copies of (but not the actual policies)
List of permissions I will ask for
    Example of a contract
Example of a record of info form
List of useful numbers & websites (Ofsted, NCMA etc)
    Copy of my complaints policy
    Copy of my Safeguarding policy

When they sign up they get a folder which has:

My contact details (as before, but with address & Ofsted number)
    Policies
    Permission forms
    Their copy of the contract
Their copy of the record of info form
Copies of anything else they sign
    Copy of my latest newsletter
    Useful leaflets

The idea is that they use the folder to store anything else I give them (newsletters, forms, updated contracts, policies etc).

I like the idea of a folder. I too dont like to overwhelm parents with too many policies etc
