When I awake I will hopefully find that it has all been a really bad dream, and Ofsted have disappeared along with thier conflicting comments.

Well I'm on all 3 as well but I'm going to stick 2 fingers up to Ofsted and concentrate on what I'm paid to do and that is look after, play with and care for my little mindee whilst making sure that we do loads of fun stuff whilst she is here.

Can't be doing with this constant changing about.

Well have just been and rread the 080 thingy or whatever it is and I reckon my policies should cover that.

I only have 1 query and thats the smoking thing - I don't smoke but my DH does. Whilst I have children here - he goes outside in the garage, door shut and this is not accessible to the mindees (to get there they'd either have to unlock front door or the side gate and keys are out of reach).

Now whilst he is doing this nowhere near mindees (and he's usually out there whilst mindees are here anyway) the garage is still on the premises. Does this mean he can't smoke in his garage? I can see that going down like a lead balloon if I tell him he can't whilst mindees are here.

I think if your husband is out of sight so the children can't see him smoking and they are out of the smoke then he should be fine

hes out of site and children cant get in there while hes having a smoke, I would say its ok but if you are worried just ask him if he minds not having a smoke while ofsted are there...shouldnt have to but depends on if you are fussed on what ofsted say/think on silly things like this....they just take it to the extreme dont they

My dev officer came on Friday and never mentioned anything about it to me. So why are some of us on all 3 and not others then?

I guess its to do with what ages you look after that ofsted know of

Just had a thought though. Where does those of us registered to offer funded places for the 3&4 year olds come in? Those on all 3, are you reg to offer them?

    Go to ... www.ofsted.gov.uk

Put your registered number into the search bar top right of the Ofsted home screen...

Go into your information and see what registers you are on.

If you are on all 3, then you need to follow the Statutory Requirements of the Eyfs

    AND

Everything in document reference - 080161 - put this reference into the search bar at the top right of Ofsted website and it will come up!

    http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/Ofsted-home...nguage)/eng-GB

There are some differences between the Eyfs and this document...

They are listed in the first post on this thread -

    http://www.childmindinghelp.co.uk/fo...ad.php?t=15167

And if you don't use this forum and haven't noticed these differences yourself, you are well and truly stuffed...

So please tell your childminding friends!
thanks for the information i will pass it on

The Ofsted site is dreadful to negotiate since they messed about with it and made all the improvements
