Post I'm New And need some help

    Hi

    I am new on here...

I have a few learning disabilities and Health issues. I am studying Childcare and Early Learning Diploma Level 3, I am slowly going through the first module assignment and I am confused on one of my questions

How is development monitored in an early years setting and what types of methods could be used?

Could someone please explain the question please?

    Thank You

A lot of people use trackers, which can be on paper or online/apps.

You also use the Early Years Outcomes document which shows where a child is expected to be for their age (also Development Matters which is a very similar document).

As Rick said by doing observations and comparing the progress with the Early learning goals we monitor progress and plan next steps to help progression onto the next age bracket.

Observations can just be visual of what you have seen or heard the child doing, you could take photos or videos - sometimes but not always observations can be written down.
