Instruments for animals
What instruments would you all use, preferably percussion, to represent an elephant, a bear, a monkey, a leopard, a snake and a bird?
Can you guess which book we are playing with next week
Thank you

Where's Sergei Prokofiev when you need him?
Is he even a member?
Bet the lazy slacker is out there lurking on Nutmoms again.

You chose the same as us except we thought tambourine for the monkey, they make a cacophonous noise when they start up. But maybe cymbals would work for them.
The leopard leaps in this book? I'm really stuck for the leopard.
Right, I've just ordered a monkey drum (it at least mimics the swinging arms of the monkey in the book) and a cha cha nut shaker for the leopard. I should be able to mimic fast footsteps and a jump with it.

Lovely ideas - great thinking thread.
I was thinking quiet stalking then loud leap so the nut shaker sounds good.
I want a xylophone, a proper one, not the little wooden thing I make do with now so I always think that first ....2 notes repeated for stalk then a Big Bang for leap....I keep finding lots of reasons why I need to invest in one!
