EYFS for 2 year old - short term care
Hello,
It looks like I might have a new mindee for 3 days a week over the 6 weeks summer holidays as the pre-school he attends will be shut.
How much planning/obs etc should I do? Obviously he will already have a learning journey at the pre-school and 6 weeks isn't much time to get to know and plan for a child.
Would I be ok doing a "sort-of" learning journey - basically a scrapbook of his time with me with some EYFS links that he can take back to pre-school in September? Or do I need to go all out planning, observing, assessing?!

I think a scrapbook would be lovely and certainly wouldn't do anymore.

I had a boy for 1 month once, short term contract. Just simplify- a brief starting points doc 'what I can do...', then a few obs (1 or 2 a week) and simple short term next steps for some of the obs, and interests which you can follow up. All put into a simple 'what I did in the holidays' for parents/nursery.

I made a little 'what we have been doing' booklet for a little one who just came last summer. She loved filling it in with tickets, photos and other memories and mum really appreciated it.
i wrote about it in my SEF to share what I had done with Ofsted
