    Default New Eyfs statements...

I'm up-dating my folders and finding that some of the children have gone backwards in their development stages,as there are less statements to link to! anybody else found this?

The statements in Development Matters are not 'tick box' - a child does not have to do exactly what the statement says.

You are looking for a 'best fit' judgement - whether the child is doing the type of things that DM suggests for their age and stage.

There are significantly less statements - but they say pretty much the same things so children shouldn't go backwards.

Maybe thats where i'm going wrong....need to look for "best fits" as you say Sarah. The old statements are still in my head so i think it's taking me a while to adjust! Let's try again!!!
