I have a form asking for details like naptime routines, if the child has any comfort objects, favourite toys/stories/tv programmes, who is important to them/who is in their family etc so that I can get to know the child and their routines. However the family starting with me soon seem really nice but they have given me just the basics - falls asleep having a cuddle and is in nappies.
How could I encourage them to share more?

I would go through your 'all about me' form with parents if they've not been forthcoming

Some parents just aren't into form filling! It doesn't mean they are not interested or caring. Sometimes you just have to work with what you have got and learn more through your own observations as well as verbal communication with the parents at drop off and pick up, making notes as you go along.
