    Excellent stuff Sarah, thanks.

I have a baby myself but being able to take on another under 1 will make a massive difference to my options for starting again after my Maternity Leave ends.

I was granted a variation for an under 1 in addition to my own when I first started, so I've got all the equipment and whatnot, and know that I can manage with two babies.

Much more sensible IMO - but I do agree with the poster who said that the certificates may as well just state 6 under 8.

I thought the new registration certificates were going to say that with the addition within the EYFS guidelines OWTTE ? Or have I yet again got the wrong end of the stick?! (wouldn't surprise me!)

i had an enquiry last night for 15mth twins ...

i'd love to say yes, but the next available space i think i will have will be just one space on one day in january! do you think under the new variation protocol i could take the twins on, bringing me to 4 under 5 on that day immediately with new business or do i say sorry i can't help.

i don't actually know what mum is looking for, it sounds like a school hours whilst older child is at school.

There is nothing in the EYFS or in the guidance I have received from Ofsted about variations for new business.

As things stand at the moment I would say no, you do not have the space and you will be unable to show in your risk assessments that you are extending hours / accommodating existing children etc.

I'd email Ofsted and ask for guidance - they may just refer you to DfE but they might answer you as their guidance is due out soon.

    Miffy xx
    Keep smiling!
