    Default Can't find this development...

Where the dickens is it in development matters where a child lines up their toy cars in a line, specifically setting them out in a line? Is it in there somewhere cos I just cannot find it!!

Also, is there one anywhere to say what children get out of interacting with children older than them (eg what the children get out of reading a book with my 10 year old daughter - they clearly gravitate to older children like this and enjoy being with them). Again, can't seem to find what I need....

Thanks to anyone who can assist!!

this is a schema hon. under variuos names and guises. trajectory, straight line

In learning areas I would probably put it under PSRN learning about direction and position and actually using problem solving skills to work out how to put them in straight line.

Brilliant, thank you. I often wonder why these things aren't put in Dev Matters - why is that?

is daft hon isn't it. schemas are so important to their learning. I've just got an add on section in my observation sheets so I can identify the schemas.

I think I might look at doing that to be honest, probably a good idea to make the obs a bit more comprehensive. I might do a handout for parents on schema so they know what it is when they see one noted in their child's learning journey. Thanks for the help!!!
