Does anyone know if there is an active discount code around for the Family and Friends railcard?

I've got this card, but I have no idea what these discount codes are about. Again, I'm a foreigner so a lot of things that are common knowledge doesn't apply to me...

I thought the card gives you the discount when you buy your tickets? I got mine a lot cheaper since getting the card.

Please explain...

You buy the card for £26 but the daily mirror or mail sometimes do a discount code of 25% off or 50% off so i'd buy the card for say £13 with 50% off!
