ELC double discount for childminders untill christmas

Popped into my local early learning centre to top up the toys readys for Mrs Os visit on Tuesday

and realised my childminder discount card was out of date. Despite no longer having a valid NCMA card I managed to persuade girl on till to renew mine - I think she was persuaded when I was able to quote my registration number off the top of my head

They didnt realise that OFSTED dont provide ID cards to prove registration and was a little taken aback when I told her my ID" was in a frame on my lounge wall

Having gone through all that shinnanigans The girl on the till, Manager and I were now good buddies

and she told me that from now until christmas they are offering anyone with the dicount card 20% off purchases instead of 10%

So the bits I bought were £6.40 cheaper than they should have been

One of the things I got was their "bag for life" its a cloth bag like the ones shops sell, with a whole range of "healthy" fruit,veg and bread. The quality of the pieces is really good, like the expensive ones they have at the childrens centres - just wish they did some meat and fish or multicultural ones as well and I would be set up for my gold star - shame the kids just want to eat the pretend chocolate cake!!

I need several bits so I'll try and get in there. It's a shame we can't get the discounts shopping online though - my nearest Elc is 18 miles away!

I have my eye on the red retro kitchen and the 20% off might just be the thing that gets the credit card out!

has anyone used the card to buy in mothercare. I was asking in elc the other day about how to get the discount when i am registered and they said mothercare stuff is not included.

I have used the card in Mothercare and actually got the discount off their stock

Not sure if this was a mistake though as noone knew what to do with the card

Thanks for letting us know about the 20% off, well worth knowing

Yes this was a mistake as it happened to me too and I bought lots of clothes for DS! When I asked the next time, they said only discount was for ELC which was a shame as I bought lots of new cutlery for my mindees!

I went into the store with my ncma card, which had my ofsted number onit and all they did was fill out a quick form and that was that!

I was also able to add another persons name on the forms so that they can use my discount card aswell.

I have order items online with the elc and up until a few weeks ago was paying a delivery charge, it wasnt until i read the small print on the card that i realised that you are entitled to free delivery

no its not just an ncma discount

you need to take your registration cert in and you get the discount card

I've got a card but never brought anything online, do I have to register online and put my card number in or something?

If you log into the home page of ELC, right down the bottom is a section for 'Nurseries' thats where I registered as a childminder

When I got mine I asked if I could use it online and the girl said "no - only in store and on full price items".

Which number did you put where it says School or nursery number? Ofsted number, NCMA membership or the number off an ELC discount card?

I'm confused and don't know which to put!!
