Hello!
I am pre-reg and will be wanting to be out as much as possible. Any ideas for outdoor activities for the post christmas to pre-spring months? I'd love some ideas if there are any out there...
Thank you!!

Oh dear .... nothing??!!!!
I have thought of as many as I can - things I am doing with my six month old at the moment are:
Walks in the park, woods, by the river (feeding the ducks etc) and I am looking forward to wearing wellies and jumping in puddles (I would do this now but would feel far more confident if I were holding a small persons hand).
I am also spotting the first signs of spring - snowdrops and catkins etc but again at six months she is not really appreciating that as much as I am
When the weather gets warmer I am looking forward to picnics and when she is older (or if I get older children to mind) planting seeds, finding different flowers etc
I could really do with some inspiration if anyone has any ideas. I have had a look through some of the other threads and there are some great ideas for other times of the year but I do feel a bit stuck at the moment waiting for spring to properly get going.
Thank you!!!!
There are absolutely tons of ideas on this site! http://www.naturedetectives.org.uk/
Hope it helps
Don't forget indoors and outdoors so all the things that you do indoors, painting, play doh, duplo, singing, reading stories etc etc etc can be taken outdoors into the garden

Hi
loving all the suggestions and when attended a outdoor play session offered by local childrens services they gave us suggestions of using
1 various size shape paint brushes and paint with little bit of washing up liquid in it for the kids to paint on fences walls to there hearts delight then either rain or us wash it off really easily
2 provide crates gutters and tarpaulin for them to build dens from and also to investigate with water as well #
3 cosy/waterproof clothes wellies and let little ones investigate while u observe them develop in all weathers
hope this helps and thanks for otheres help/ideas too
We collected fallen branches the other day and used them as paint brushes
How about a hot picnic?
great when its snowy - warm soup / sausages / hot chocolate all wrapped up warm and cosy!
This week we have made mud pies, mud milk shakes, made a filter out of colander, cloth and other stuff to strain and filter muddy water. We have painted the fence all the colours of the rainbow, we've been on long walks in the mud , collected loose parts for the back yard - including sticks, big and small, pine needles, cones, leaves etc. We have had water play, been to the park, played pooh sticks, watched the falconry display, climbed trees, walked with friends, climbed the rough land hills and loads of other things.
Next week we will have out the bubbles, make more mud pies, do more painting, play croquet and jenga and whatever else the kids fancy.
