Where can I buy borax?

I've got a messy play recipe to make gloop but it needs borax and I can't find it anywhere!! Any ideas anyone?

I use cornflour and water, it's much easier.

The only borax I know is the one worn in the film. It just covers mens "bits". So sorry have no idea!!!

I use cornflower too, but you should be able to get borax from a hardware shop, although it can be dearer than cornflower!

I read recently it can also be an irritant so I would be really reluctant to use it. I use cornflour and water

Isn't borax a poision. My mum used to use it with icing sugar to kill ants. They sold it at my local hardwear shop but to be honest I wouldn't use it with children.

Our local cheap shop sells it so does our hardware store. It's used traditionally for laundry so that section would be a good place to look.

It's supposed to make really good flubber too but I never got around to trying after I bought the borax, lol

Oh yeah, Boots chemist sell it too (just remembered!)

This recipe makes a different texture to cornflour and water. I went on a sensory play course and the tutor had made some. It's quite shiny and almost plastic to feel but pliable.

I've searched all the hardware stores and supermarkets but no joy.

Try an online search, you can buy virtually anything on line and it can be quicker than going to the shops.

Just done a quick search and they even sell it on Amazon!

I think I will have to order online. I had found a few places that sold online but I was trying to avoid the p&p! It's also a good excuse to go to the shops!
