    Default Stick wrapping!

This has kept my mindees (aged 3, 4, 6 and 6 nearly 7) occupied for nearly 2 hours today, that's just the wrapping: We took hours finding the perfect ones last week on a walk in the woods... and we'll have to go on another adventure later to try them out.
We're using loads of old tape I rescued from my dad's shed: I think its the stuff used in electrics, should be cheap enough from a pound shop or similar. Some have opted for silver ends too - duct tape, I LOVE the stuff .

Hope this helps someone running out of steam

    Sounds like a good idea!

You could put lengths of wool in with the sticky tape so they dangle off the stick... then use them for dancing

Sorry for sounding thick, but what's stick wrapping and what do you do with the wrapped sticks?

Like the idea of adding other stuff to the sticks : thanks
Regarding the dancing.... great idea, I'm sure the little ones at least would like that and we could use smaller sticks: It also made me think of doing 'wands' at a future date.
Today's sticks were more 'staffs' though and we used them to help us on our journey through the enchanted woods of 'danger' to the magical 'field of frisby'.
Inevitably they were used in turns as fighting sticks, telescopes, stinger basher-downers, Bows for invisible arrows and, yes, guns . I now ignore the gun thing as long as we all understand only baddies are to be shot at.
Today the baddies were lions , tigers and , obviously: dragons

Only have photos on my phone and with mindees in, will have a go with my temperamental camera tomorrow if i get a chance.

Me too, but it sounds good fun. At least for now we can use the excuse of being new.

We have made journey sticks before. You take a stick (wrapped or otherwise) on a walk, along with some string and as you find interesting things tie them on. My lot loved it
