activity that covers all areas of learning??
Ive just started my nvq3 and i need to plan and observe an activity for a 2 year old to promote creative learning but that also covers all areas of learning! Any ideas anyone??

what a silly thing to ask you to do!!
You offer a broad range of activities throughout the day that cover all areas of learning... children's play should not be manipulated like that!
Ok... rant over...
Cooking - make some playdough and play with it -
psed - working together, sharing
Pd - mixing, fine motor skills with playdough, hand washing
C & L - talking about ingredients
Lit - make playdough letters and numbers
maths - weights and measures
Uw - simple science
a & d - put some glitter in the stuff!

I always found if I set up a home corner I could manage to link childrens obs to all the areas of learning - particularly useful if i noticed one area was a little less 'covered' than the others in the lj. Iwould always have a few pics of children in the home corner I could link .
To be fair most activities could be linked - walking along a log outside is largely physical. But we can count steps , introduce new language , pretend to be animals , take turns and help each other............

Make and decorate small cakes
PSE turn taking - talking about likes and dislikes
L - following a written recipe
M - weighing and measuring - counting out the paper cases - sharing the cakes afterwards
PD - using spoon to stir, whisk to beat eggs
UW - how the mixture changes when cooked
CL - talking through what we are doing and/or recalling what we did
A & D - decorating the cakes

good suggestion about the cooking
