We did this a while ago. We all tried walking with a ball on our feet, like the daddy penquin does with his egg

I have a lovely book called Miki which is about a little Inuit girl and her adventures with a penguin and a polar bear (pictures are lovely), and Lost and Found is quite a nice story too.

Alongside this I froze some plastic arctic animals in an ice cream container (with some fake snow and sparkly snowflakes). Then put the frozen block into a large tray to slowly melt. As the ice melted the animals emerged - entertained my little ones for ages.
