Default Christmas Tree from hand shapes

As promised here are some photos of the tree we did last year made from cut out hand shapes. Our big hands at the bottom, youngest/smallest child's hands at the top.

Decorated with children's own 'baubles' made from sticky coloured paper and the 'lights' were coloured straws cut into pieces and threaded onto fine string.

This activity can now be found on my youtube channel:

I just cut a basic tree shape from card and copied it three times and then fastened them together at the edges bending them slightly to fit into the middle, if that makes sense.

It was very easy. I used staples to hold it and put sellotape on the back of the staples to avoid cut fingers.

Thats good. I have done something similar. I must of read you had done it. I have done green paint hand prints and put them on some brown paper in a tree shape. The older 2 made some glitter babules for it. Its on the door and looks quite good.

Last year we painted a 6ft flat cardboard tree and decorated it, but i think this year we might add some 3d effect hands on it, what a great idea!
