ok set this up - used the words Penny wanted to use on Government one - go tweet and share on facebook, email to parents - send it far and wide - and get the message out there.

My stuipid computer won't open the link. Go for it though - we are just trying to get ourselves heard. If we make people read our point of view 10 times over - then that's all good!!!

Great stuff - I know its not ideal - and we wanted the number 10 petition - but they could take up to 7 days to respond to the 2nd one we raised yesterday and I don't think we want to loose the momentum we are starting to get. Plus we couldn't use the words that Penny created yesterday which means that people we are trying to sway won't get the message and might not sign.

great stuff, i'm hoping now people have come in from the sunshine they will see this and others people's links on facebook and the numbers will increase.

Today i've put it on twitter, facebook (my account and Cm southwest group), i've emailed all my parents, i've put it on NCMA local, 3 private forums and emailed it to my NCMA local rep copied in Tim Farrow and sent to my LA who have now forwarded it to other managers.

If anyone has accounts with mumsnet, ***** and they can get it on there that would be great.

Canvas support whereever you can. What we want is a large number of people putting their names on the petition - unless we do I don't think they will start taking us seriously.

Can we pin this thread on the forum?

Thats amazing! When I signed an hourish ago, there were 68 signatures then!

I put the link on facebook and almost immediately got another childminder questioning it though She was saying that Ofsted expect too much of us and we have too much to do, so having them out of the picture might be a good thing. I tried to explain the best I could by leaving notes in the comments box, but I don't think some childminders realise the 'downside' of no Ofsted! They seem to think we will be able to carry on just as we are, but without the stress of paperwork etc. We are up against alot more than just the government on this

I know its going to be a tough battle - 'but' we can increase our against voices be getting parents in to support - at the end of the day the parents might care even if the childminder doesn't. We need to send it out to everyone we can.

thats a great idea - Pauline are you in a position to ask any of our forum supporters to help spread the word? after all without childminders their businesses could suffer - especially if its paid services?
