I was running late taking the Mindee's to their club and what was hidden behind the trees on a bend.Yep, the ole mobile camera unit caught me doing 37, in a 30 zone ( I actually thought it was a 40 zone ? )
Don't suppose I can claim the fine ?

I shouldn't think so. You didn't get the fine cos of minding. You got the fine cos you were speeding with children in the car.
I think Marshmallow was joking...you were, weren't you??!
It's not funny though, but I'm sure you know that. My pre reg inspector asked to see that my licence was clean (I had to go and get the paper bit) so be careful
i got caught speeding on the motorway doing 70 mph apparently the part of the rd i was on had been changed to 50mph but the signs had been removed recieved a nice 6 points and a £270 fine
I would say not

There have been a number of speeding cases that have been thrown out of court because the signs are wrong.
They have to be there to start with, apart from a built up area where the lamp posts are close together (you would need to check the latest Highway Code) so it is always a 30mph. UNLESS there are clear signs to tell you it is not.
Speed signs showing a complusory speed have to be opposite each other on each side of the road at the beginning of the speed zone, they, to be legal, have to be of a certain min size. If they are not then the speed limit indicated is not enforceable.
Don't forget you will have to inform your insurance company, because if you don't and are involved in an accident, they will check your driving licence to make sure it is up to date.
If you haven't declared the fine and points, they will say your insurance is invalid as you have not declared all facts.
I know someone it happened to!
