Default List of Counties that offer Capital Grants

    Hi
Not sure if this has already been done, but I thought it might be an idea to collate a list of counties/areas that have given childminders capital grants and how much has been received.
I'm from Essex - haven't applied for one yet but would be interesed in knowing if Essex County Council even offer them?
Seems unfair that some counties give away loads (good luck to you if you have received anything!) and others - nothing?!?

    Thanks
    Nikki

Nottinghamshire offer £500 (approx) in various resource packages - ICT, outdoor play, baby, communication etc.

I think you have to have had your first graded inspection and be satisfactory or above before you can apply.

Northamptonshire network childminders only are being asked to apply for it for garden resources. Theres no set amount for each network childminder and we wont know for sure if we will get the grant to pay for what we have asked for

Don't get me started Helen lol

Although I'm in Stoke on Trent we aren't under the same council as Nell. We are like Miffy and getting a package, not sure what but will be grateful of anything off them

I am in Enfield and we have recently been invited to apply for grants. Lots of conditions apply. I am in the process of applying for mine.

I am in Bury, Lancashire, and have recieved £3000. £1000 adult ICT package that we had no say in what we got but includes laptop, printer/scanner. And £2000 for child ICT and Natural outdoor play equipment.
You ave to be on to local accreditation scheme to get it so only about 20 childminders have recieved it. Lots of complainbts from other childminders who havn't been able to access it in the area due to them not being on accreditation scheme. I think it should be everyone or no-one, not a postcode lottery.

Think I have been one of the lucky ones reading all this.

Just waiting for my stuff to arrive. Can't wait.

Surrey offer 6 resource boxes that cover each area of learning & devolopment (for a limited time only & if you miss out tough)! Complete waste of money IMHO - I so far have had the music box - missed the book box & already had all the items in it! I know I sound ungreatful but it would have made more sense to offer each CM a set amount that they could then spend on resources that would enhance there setting.

We were given a list of things and we had to choose 3 things to go on a short list. Laptop was one of them but as we already have 3 in our house I'm just hoping we don't get another one.

I'm not ungrateful either Blaze but I think your idea of a set amount so we could buy what we needed for our setting would have been much better.

That is right. By saying Nottinghamshire though this is the county of Nottinghamshire but excluding Nottingham City as they are a different LA - don't know whether or not they have had any capital grant funding - do you know Miffy?

Havering is just down the road to me....what does 'accredited' mean.

I know I'm probably a looooong way off from this (seeing as I'm still pre-reg) but I keep hearing this term and don't understand what it means?
