I would say between £800-£1300 depending on your expenses.

No i think Debbie has it correct. It can only be a rough guess because the expenses etc can all be so different for everyone.

I agree with Debbie - hard to say without full expenses (though around 50% is expected). HTH

Lets say you earned 18K and had no expenses then you could deduct your tax free income (6K) and you would pay tax and national insurance on the remaining 12K. An approximation would be a £3K tax and NI bill (20% tax and 8% class 4 NI).

Obviously you would have some expenses. I reckon my expenses to be between 1/3 and 1/2 of my gross income. Based on the above approximations I would therefore expect to pay between £800 and £1500, more or less what Debbie worked out!

Im looking at a very low income this year (started minding in Aug though so alot has been spent on resources and start up fees etc)....Looking forward to earning an little more next tax year and seeing money in my account (thats if Ive done expenses right. Just need to do food expenses for Nov/Dec...not much before that as only had 1 mindee 2 days a week...now got 2 after schoolers and another mindee three days a week (but mum has been providing that until last week)....My accounts are now getting in order and will be more organised for next tax year (hate being disorganised )
