You haven't finished the tax year yet of 09/10. Any tax that you need to pay will be by Jan 2011. Whether you pay any or not will depend on your profit.

Only £96 for me to pay

Due to a quiet spell mid way through the year.

Had a quiet time from July till now so might be low again next time. On the other hand we have rented out our old house and half the income is mine as such so that will push it up Need to look into that one.

when you have a rental you can allocate percentages of the profit/loss and it doesn't have to be 50/50. Worth looking into.

Def a profit, which is good. Money goes into joint account monthly via agent. Will look into it. Thanks. DH earns well and pays a shed load of tax so might be better to go my way.

You need to finish the tax year before you can fill it in.

Sit back and wait and call them if you don't have a form by the 2nd week in March and then if you are stuck call out

I was on another childminders chat forum and someone posted saying that childminders have the "two thirds disregard rule" - ie. 2/3 of what we earn we can disregard, then take our expenses off, then apply the personal allowance and only pay tax on what's left (not an awful lot!!). I';ve looked at all the usual sites NCMA / HMRC but can't find anything. Has anyone heard of this??

This is not true - it is an old "hypthetical" rule. You need to do proper accounts of correct factual income/expenditure, otherwise be prepared to an audit and big fines.
