I have never done this but I believe you simply write yourself an receipt.

If it is for toys under £10 you do not need a receipt, just write them in your accounting book

I've never done it either, all my own childrens toys that live downstairs are shared and personal toys are in their bedrooms but my two also chose to bring toys down to share.

My 2 daughters have alot of toys. I think I am going to buy toys off them as they outgrow them, that way I can show that they have been bought for the business. I guess we would need to do some kind of invententory of toys belonging to the business so you don't buy the same toy over and over again. Then if you go on to sell a toy you bought for CM which you later sold I guess you would have to show this as income on your accounts? don't know - just thinking out loud - perhaps someone could clarify?

You can either use a receipt book or do what I did

Go through your toys/video's/dvd's and see what your children no longer use. List it all on an A4 sheet, total it and sign and date it and put in your accounts.

This includes, highchairs, car seats, pushchairs etc...
