Default Paid my tax bill ......new years resolution no.98

Managed to pay my tax bill on line today so that is another thing ticked off my list of 2000 things to do this month. Wasn't happy to see it leave my account but still over with now.
However bet I could of claimed more reductions but unless a magic fairy comes and tells me what I can claim for its gone now.

Anyone else broke now their bill has been paid?

Mine isn't due until 31st January so I will pay mine on line then - better the money in my bank than theirs!

I've yet to do mine and I'm dreading it and aside from childminding, I'm also an employee. Haven't put any money aside, am totally skint so will no doubt be feeling very sorry for myself when I get round to it.

Still got mine to pay bad enough having to pay £800 for this tax year, but having to pay £400 towards next year at the same time is really taking the mick, especially when my money has gone down quite a bit as I have lost one child and another has gone part time since september, so I won't be earning as much anyway!!! I know I might get it back but its the principle!!!!

Its alright I didn't know either!!!!!! apparently if you have to pay over £500 in tax for this year, you have to pay the same again on account for next year. So my tax bill for this year is £800, therefore, I have to pay £400 in January and £400 in July for next year. They assume you will earn approximately the same!!!! not a chance in this job - I have lost some children since September!!! so I am going to get my books done as soon after the 5th April as I can so hopefully I won't have to pay the next lot!!

Hope that makes some sense Chrissy!

Yes thanks, that made loads of sense. Though not fair if you have little to no children the following year.
