I just would like to warn everybody that there is a scam email
pretending to be from Inland Revenue saying that you are to receive a
tax refund and that you only have 48 hours to fill the information in
that they require which, of course, is birthday, credit card number
etc., etc.
Fortunately I had the sense to ring the real Inland Revenue office on
a number I obtained from their previous correspondence to me
(genuine) and was informed that this is a scam and that Inland
Revenue would NEVER ask for such personal information in this way.
They also said to be careful of written letters appearing to be from
them as these too, can be scams.
I don't know about you all out there, but I think it is awful to have
to be constantly on red alert about this sort of thing, but we do so
I just thought I would alert you all as well.
There is a lot of publicity about ID scams thank goodness so I was
sure it was a scam right from the start.
Sue.
