end/start of tax year and pacey accounts book
Hi all,
Hoping someone can answer a quick question please.
I am just filling in my end of the week/month expenses in my pacey book. So the new tax year started on Wednesday, do I tag the whole of this weeks (or part week) expenses/income as a continuation of last week or start from Wednesday?
I'm a bit confused, but hope that makes sense to some one.
Have a great weekend everyone x

I have always started my new tax year on the first Monday in April which means my last week of the tax year is the week starting with the last Monday in March.
This year my tax year ended on the 3rd and new one started on the 4th. Next year it will end on the 2nd and start on the 3rd. I find it easier to work in full weeks rather than having part weeks. I have been doing this since 2001, originally with paper returns and then on-line returns and HMRC are fine
They do not mind when you start and finish your tax year as long as you are consistent and do not miss days out between returns xx
