Default Pac testing and fitting extra sockets

Can we claim for having appliances PAC tested? I could also do with some extra sockets, especially in the play room. At the moment I have to unplug one thing to plug in another, and so wondered if I could get help with the cost. I also thought that having items PAC tested was a health and safety requirement?

We do not need to PAT test anything we just need to visually check See HSE website Myth: All office equipment must be tested annually

You can do it if you want but it is not required and although you would be able to put it through your accounts but do you want to spend money you don't need to? If you start PAT testing then you should really do everything in your house not just the playroom.

Not sure about sockets check with HMRC

    Thanks for your replies.
I didn't think it was a legal requirement to have everything tested, but one or two parents have asked me if I have appliances tested. I do get the gas fire and boiler checked annually, but wasn't sure about the electrics.
Certainly not going to spend more than I need to. I will get the extra sockets but leave it at that I think.
