That's not right - you need to cap the average over the year at 40 hours per week, which is a bit better than applying the cap each week or month, but you can't just remove the cap altogether. Sorry if I was unclear.

HappyToddlers - I think what you are doing is great and really useful for our members.

It might be helpful to remove old versions of the download if you have updated them to ones that work better and put a note of which post number in the thread they are instead - this will help members to find the latest version.

If you are struggling to do it please send me a pm and I will be happy to help

Thanks for clearing that up. Attached is a version of the spreadsheet that has this cap for the average.

    Thanks all!

    Thanks all!
PLEASE NOTE: If you use this spreadsheet then you will need to correct an error. To do this:

    Open the spreadsheet in Excel
    Click on 'Year 2012-13' tab
Click on cell D18 (which is July's Hours Worked)
Change the cell contents from =July!$O$64
    to =July!$P$64
    Save and close.

    Thanks!

I was thinking the same about the NCMA accounts books but not having done any accounts before, I thought I'd better stick with it - to begin with at least. I've just about had enough of it now though and was going to see about setting my own up over Christmas but now I'll see if yours works for me. Thanks so much for sharing

Just had a look at your spreadsheet and it looks fab. I'm going to try it out this month and see what I think. Isn't mileage 45ppm though?

Hi, to unprotect - open spreadsheet go to Tools - Protection - Unprotect Sheet.

    That should do it.

Thank you so much for this, I am very behind with my NCMA accounts book and thinking about all the writing gives me a headache, so i will be looking forward to using this tomorrow and hopefully can bring myself up to date.
You are very clever to create this - it is like a master piece!!

    Hi there, this looks fab!

Can I easily adapt it for my 2011-12 accounts?

I've almost completed my NCMA accounts book for that year ready to submit my figures by 31st Jan but its a total mess with tipex and crossings out everywhere and I'm not 100% sure it's even added up right! I'd probably be quicker to re-enter my figures on a spread sheet than try and go through it all on paper to check my adding up is right.
