I am looking for a sand and water table. I want one that will last and that doesn't take up too much space. I love the ones in the education catalogues with the metal frame but they are sooo expensive. Does anyone have one and are they worth it??

Hi, I have recently bought the ELC one, I really like it. It comes with lots of different attachments for water play etc and some sand toys, just a nice size, not too big. The legs come off easily so easy to store. I got 20% off as I had a voucher, so thought I would buy one ready for summer. :) x

I use a couple of durable plastic underbed storgae boxes with lids from Ikea for sand and water tables - I can add and change resources as I want to and they pack away nicely too, as well as being about £8 each! I can put them on the floor for babies, milk crates or a table -very versatile I find!!

I bought this one (http://www.tts-group.co.uk/shops/tts/Products/PD1718508/Circular-Sand-Water-Play-Trolley/?rguid=3f4fd68c-5d90-4698-b784-7fa7ce94244b) from TTS, within a year the frame had gone wonky and the washer on the plug hole no longer stops leaks, definitely wouldn't recommend. :(

I bought this one from Tesco's in the sale - it's great as a water table but would be no good for sand. No plug or drain hole, you just tip the water out!

I've made my own from an old IKEA table and an underbed storage box. You can see it here: http://www.rainbowplayhouse.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/sensory-bin-discovery-box-gardening.html

I love that rainbow. I actually love most Grimm's toys - we've a puzzle and another stacker as well. I should review them at some point when I get some time (and get off this forum!).

I just saw the thread about you doing this - am really happy to have a chat. I think you may be interested in how I'm using my garden space (what there is of it!). I'm planning a post about it - just need to get some good pics when it is actually 1) sunny and 2) tidy. I'll keep waiting for those two magical things to happen at once then.
