Hiya

Ofsted are coming the week starting 16th June

I want to knock them out of the ball park (or at least get a good!!)

so was wondering what I need out paperwork wise,

does anyone have a list,

my register is up to date and signed. my medical file is up to date. I need to review my policys to include the ofsted address for complaints.

what do I do with records of children who have left?

I would say have out your policies, attendance book etc for her to browse through, also have out the certificates for 1st aid, child protection etc - the compulsory ones that you have to have.

they never asked about files for previous children but mine are in the loft out of the way which I would guess is fine :)

Good luck :D

yes i agree, they wont ask to see paperwork for children that have left unless their is a problem.

have all certificates, attendance records (make sure parents have signed too), policies (have as many as poss!!), contracts, etc ect

oh and my inspector loved the visitors book!!!

Don't forget your accident records, permission forms, child information and health forms including emergency contact details.

Also photographs, pieces of the children's work, observation and planning records if you have them

Ofsted poster, registration and insurance certificates on display

Good luck

There is a list in the back of the Are You Ready for your Inspection book, let me know if you haven't got it.
Also I gave her my policies and procedures file, my childminding portfolio, and in my confidential record files ( one for each child) I had questionnaires relevant for the age of the child, one about general likes/dislikes, activities, toys, foods etc and one about a personal hygiene care plan where the parent ticked what care they wanted for their child.(proves you are working with consideration for parents wishes)
I showed her my reg. certificate, parent poster and fire evac poster which are all by the door as she came in, and also had ready a book I keep to log fire drills, fire alarm tests and fridge/ freezer checks. She really liked a daily risk assessment checklist which I laminated and use as a write-on/wipe-off for every day use.
Other things she liked were travel cups with lids for hot drinks and anti-bac gel in my changing box in case I can't leave the lo's to wash my hands (or their hands, as has been highlighted on another thread!)

Sorry to waffle on ,hope it's of some help, good luck!!!

I wouldn't think they will need to see these. But she will probably ask to see the records of all the children you care for now.

The other number for Ofsted I have is 08456 40 40 40

Hi Tammy,

We'll have to wait and see if one of the girls tells us cos I don't know about that. I've just looked at my complaints policy and I've just got the NCMA Information Line and that's 0800 169 4486. IT's a mystery! lol My CSDO is coming on 30th June so I'll ask her but I know one of the girls will tell us.
