Hi all!
I've just had my third child and finished my law degree at the same time. I've decided to register as a childminder and have my own business fo the next few years until my own children are all in school.

So anyone wanting to offer me their registration experience from pre to working and i'd be really greatful to hear!

I'm obviously experienced with children and educated, and the process looks pretty straightforward, so i'd just like to gain the reality perspective please!

Hello

I think the best information you will find will be reading and looking around the forum

Lots of members have had pre reg so you will be able to read about their experience and pick up some tips and good advice

Good luck

Hi, firstly good luck with everything.

I just wanted to say the courses I have attended have been great - fun and informative. The pre-reg inspection was fine too - just make sure you have read and understood the national standards, have ideas on activities and have made your house child-friendly. Ofsted have been friendly and helpful on the phone and via e-mail. The only problem I have experienced has been with the delays in my DH's CRB.

Overall it is a fairly straightforward process and somewhere on this website there is a list of what to do and when. Also lots of people give some great advice on here so take some time out to read through the threads.

Hi there!

Just a tip as you look around the forum - the pre-reg stage can be a long drawn out process and seem confusing at times, but it will be worth it in the end!
