Hi ladies
Does anyone have any tips? I think my inspection is going to be next week.
I have my 2 daughters who are 1 & 2 and the little boy I mind is 9 months....could anyone recommend a nice activity I could do?
I mainly do free play as to be honest I really struggle to plan 'activities' for my mindee as he sleeps so much as is so little he just want to play with the toys!
I tried playdough the other day and he just wanted to eat it, so i pressed his handprint took a photo and let him down to go play with what he wanted!
Do I need to do a permission form to show Ofsted my work? I think Ive heard that somewhere recently?
Many thanks x

'Gloop' is good (cornflour and water). My little mindee aged 9 months loved it, just swishing her hands around in it. To be honest any inspector worth their salt would not expect an all singing all dancing activity for a child that young. As long as you can show they are being included, even if their concentration span is very limited...sorry I'm just coming down from my post inspection high (two days ago)

Thank you for the suggestion.....ive got him today so think i'll make some up this afternoon and see what he makes of it, thing is i usually sit babies in the high chair for messy play so i can put whatever mess on the tray but then they associate that with eating so its not a good combo really, although i do feel wherever i put him he would still try to eat whatever i put out as that is just the stage he is at.
Does anyone know about the permission form?

So how about something that he would be fine to eat?
baked beans are fun , so is tapioca or rice pudding. He will be exploring them using all his senses - if this includes taste then all the better! You can show youre differentiating for the different ages by introducing spoons , pots etc for the older ones or encouraging them to mark make in it.
No one has answered your question about the permission for OFSTED to see paperwork relating to your mindee.
I'm still quite new at childminding but as far as I know they have every right to see ALL your paperwork except financial stuff as thats nothing to do with them, like how much you charge etc.
Hope that helps and I hope I'm right because I've got my first inspection next week as well.
Good luck on yours
