I understand that there are no ratios on over 8s but what what happens when they do turn 8?Would I then be able to take on another under 8?Does anyone specify what age they mind up to?
Thanks

It's my understanding that on their 8th birthday they are then classed as an over 8.
As soon as my daughter turned 8 I was able to take on another 5-7 year old.

Once a child turns 8 they are no longer an under 8 so you can 'replace' them with another under 8. You need to ensure that any children you look after aged over 8 does not affect the care of the children under 8 and you also need to check how many children your public liability insurance covers you for, it is normally 10 or 12 depending who you insure with. I had one child until she was 16, a couple who stayed until they were 14 but most tend to leave when they start senior school at 11.
