Well after registering in September and my first mindees starting at the end of September I had my first inspection on Wednesday!

I got overall good with 1 action(more multicultural activities) which although we have done some multicultural stuff I new myself I hadn't any proof - photos etc.

I'm really happy as I have never worked with children although do have a
8 year old and 2 year old but I was unsure if I'd done risk assessments right
Well all paperwork I was worried about in all honesty.

So I guess I continue as I am for the next 2-3 years making improvements as and when I think necessary?

This site has been a great help - always my first point of call if I'm unsure.

Dawn.

Hi - this is my first time using this site so I hope I'm doing it right!!?

I had my first inspection last week and got a Satisfactory and was told basically that its really rare to get anything more the first time round.....I have read the report and feel a few things are a bit unfair and I didn't get a chance to 'sell myself' so to speak and prove I do certain things.

Is this true and should I just put it down to experience or voice my concerns to Osted??

Thanks for reading my thread!

There are many posts on here from members who have been told that first inspections will usually only result in a satisfactory grading but here are equally many posts from members who have been graded good or outstanding on there first inspection. Sadly there seem to be some inspectors who will only consider giving a satisfactory grade at the first inspection.

When you get your report you should be given time to let Ofsted know if there is anything you disagree with - did you do this?

If you are unhappy with your inspection then yes you should voice your concerns to Ofsted.
