I had my inspection last week and have now received my report, been looking forward to telling everyone that I got......

I'm chuffed to bits and really pleased. It was my first inspection too!

I have been a childminder for some time though, I was previously co-minding with someone else in her home for 6 months, but moved back to my home town when my Mum passed away 2 years ago. I set up on my own here (which was pretty scary actually) and decided that as my son was 9, I would just look after school children rather than EYFS age. Unfortunately things were very slow and I was struggling to find children to mind (thankfully I have nieces and nephews nearby and had some money coming in), but I decided that I had made a mistake coming off the Early Years Register and re-registered in the summer. It's the best decision I could have made, although I'm not full yet and only have children part-time, I couldn't be happier.

I've spent a fortune on toys/resources getting my setting just right, I still have lots on my wish list too!! But I really don't mind, I'm not doing this because I want to earn loads of money, I'm doing it because I love it and I'm really thankful that I'm able to.
