Hi
I recently had my first inspection which went really well but the inspector made one recommendation and I am now struggling with it.

He said that my observations were good but I should complete a sheet that shows where the child should be in terms of their learning goals for their AGE. He thought the NCMA had a form that showed the age group and the goals they should have reached but I cannot find a form that shows this anywhere and would really appreciate some help!

Thank you in advance Emma

Do they not mean the development matters sheets you could highlight when they have reached it

You need to go back to the Eyfs ages and stages information in the eyfs - it is called 'development matters'. You can get it online or you might have a book with it in.

Each child should have their own development matters information in their file - they might need a few sections at once you will notice that the ages overlap.

Then when you have made an observation you can note the date on the development matters sheet and the obs links back to it as your evidence.

Hth :D

Hello

This is the link (I hope) to a Worcestershire document that I posted a while ago. I use it and it is openly available for all to use as it is just the list from EYFS.

You can also use something called an ARK statement and can download them from the following website:

http://www.birthtofive.org.uk/pdf/ARK%20Statements%20V2.pdf

This highlights the key things they are looking for the children to be able to do then I linked my to the EYFS manual which gives you expected achievements for different ages.

Hope it helps.

I think he might be talking about The Early Years Tracker Sheet. I use this in my childrens file it helps to track development in every area. I had my Ofsted inspection last week and also did very well. She commented on my observations folders and said how good they were. It was my Childminding officer who brought the sheets round to me to start to use. They are on Cambridgeshire County Council website.

Hi,

Sorry hadn't realised the link wasn't working try this www.birthtofive.org.uk on the left hand side(sorry had to think about that:blush:) there's a category headed up "EYFS profile, moderation and ARK" if you go into that there are the ARK(Assessment and Record Keeping) statements.

Hope it works.
