hi all, im totally confused!!
ive got my registration certificate, it says
;may care for no more than 3 children under 8 years, of these not more than 2 may be in early years age group, and of these , not more than 1 may be under 1 year at any one time.
the bit that is confusing is this
when caring for 4 or 5 year olds, who are present only before and/or after a normal school day and in school holidays, may increase the number of children in the early years age group by the number of children who are present only before and/or after a normal school day and in school holidays. providing the maximum number is not exceeded (early years register)
can somone please try and make sense of that please for me
thankyou x

When a child is 4 or 5 & attending school full time, they can count in the 5 to 8yrs age group & not the early years group!

Hope that makes sense!:D

It is a confusing read isnt t...dont know why they cant re-word it...lol

Basically if you are caring for a child who starts school when they are 4yrs you can take on another child under 5yrs. The school child will not be counted in you under 5yr ratio.

So you can have 3 children under 8yrs at any one time. Only 2 of these can be early years.
So you could have for instance an 8month old, a 2yr old and a 4.5yr old if they are at school. Making a total of 3 children but only 2 in the EY group.
