What exactly do i need in my first aid box.
If you look at different companies offering Ofsted Compliant ones the contents differ. So what exactly do Ofsted require us to have ?

The basics are things like dry dressings, bandages, eye pad bandages, a pair of blunt ended scissors, small roll of cling film, resuss mask, triangular bandage, plaster if you have permission to use them. No creams and potions or cotton wool! You could have a few sterile water pods to carry in your going out kit. Gloves.
Some people have antiseptic wipes, I don't because I think water will do the job fine and I always carry a bottle of water or have access to it. Some children/adults react to the wipes and its another thing to go out of date.
It is difficult to say exactly because we all have to tailor or kits to our own needs according to the number and ages of children we are caring for.

Ofsted state .....
15. Providers must have available the proper materials and equipment which
should be clearly labelled, secured away from children and easily
accessible to the first aider. Additional first aid equipment may be
needed for sports activities or high risk activities.
16. There is no mandatory list of items for a first aid box. However the
Health and Safety Executive website provides some helpful guidance on
the minimum provision of first-aid items (where there is no special risk
identified)
I think its mostly common sense Wendy

I have got the Boots first aid kit and the travel one also. Mrs O. never asked to see it but asked if I had one so I told her and she said they were ok.

You can get them from other places as well, not just SJA (e.g. amazon)

This one is a best seller in our forum shop. It is OFSTED compliant so ideal for childminders.

The forum earns a small commission from Amazon for every sale which we use to fund our running costs.
