Hello,
I have been granted a variation to increase my numbers on a tuesday and wednesday for A.
Child B is contracted to Mondays and Tuesdays but mum has split from husband and wants child B to come to me on a Thursday and friday but I am full.
Do you think its possible that Ofsted would grant 2 variations as it is for the continuity of care for child B so that Child A has her variation on tuesday and wednesday, and child B on a thursday and friday. If I dont get the variation, I think the child will move to nursery full time :-(
Is it cheeky to ask? Has anyone ever succeeded in this? Child B has been with me for 2 months and mum was happy with the 2 days beforehand, she just wants him with me more now. He's taken a while to make progress as he's not been with other children before but we've really started to crack it and he's starting to socialise and grow in confidence.

I have two
One for child B on a Wednesday and Thursday and one for I on a tuesday. I applied for the second within a few months of the first and they were fine. Was actually granted over the phone as it started as an emergency and then became permanent
You can only ask and its not like you are asking for 5 children one day, it will still be 4 , just on different days

Ok, thank you. It's nice to know someone has done it and been approved. The thing is, I only had my 1st inspection in Nov, and got the variation 2 weeks ago and now this has come up and he's a lovely little boy who really needs some stability right now. So I guess I will fill in the form now and send it off and then call them and explain.

I had 3 variations in place at one time. Actually they are still on my certificate now, but two of the children have moved onto FT school so not actually needed anymore.
Much the same type of scenario as you, though the 3rd variation was for the care of 5 under 5s for a singular day. They did phone me about the 5 under 5s and asked a whole lot of questions but agreed to grant it, because it was only for a single named date.

I currently have three variations running on my certificate and like you i had one granted then only a few days later applied for another due to a family breakdown! Send it in then ring to confirm the situation thats what i did - the worst they can do is say no, but you won't know unless you try :) good luck xx

I currently have 2 variations for Adhoc extra care for current mindees. Ofsted just gave me a ring to check what I wanted exactly. Was pretty painless :)

I have a variation for two under-ones but also want to have one for an ad-hoc child.
His mum wants to use me occasionally now she is finished uni rather than take him away fully. It will mean that I will have four under-5's at certain times though and I don't know if this is allowed is it??
