So I've survived my first graded inspection! Woohoo, great stuff etc etc

So today I have my inspection report e-mailed to me and have a look through. Why do they write it in such a negative way?? I got good's across the board but when you read the write up it sounds like I don't know what I'm doing??

Says I don't link obs and next steps to planning? Erm....that is my planning? But then it says my paperwork is good and LJ's are well presented?!

Just a rant sorry.....

Get back to them and ask for the wording to be changed. I think there is a set amount of time where you can raise any issues :)

I have 24 hours to change any 'factually incorrect' wording.....I don't think this would fall under this though :(

Just her overly negative way of wording things.

Well done on your inspection grade

And don't be over concerned about the wording - they have to put something - even on those getting outstanding - and for some reasons they do usuaslly contradict what is written else where in the report

Thanks, I am really proud of my grade

Would I be able to put my report on here for ppl to rad and comment on? Or is that not allowed yet as it's not published yet?

Maybe I'm just taking things too personally lol

dnt be dihartened!!!! u did brillantly!!!

i got good 2,, but mines worded pants as well she wrote somting like "activities meets all areas of learning however outdoor activities do not ALWAYS meet all of learning and development" which sounds horific!!! ......................... on my inspection i had one 16 month old 2nd of dec, pooring with rain so i didnt plan any activitys whilst she was there, she said that was wrong if it rains put on coats!!!!!!!! which we would normally........... still i paid for my error now have to live with the fact my report sounds like we never go outside!!!

I shouldn't worry about it, I got outstanding and it got written on my report that I didn't have a conclusive method of recording if the child had medication before they came to me. I did, it was simple, i wrote it down if they did but didn't write anything if they didn't, foolproof!

The poor inspector couldn't apologise enough, she said there was absolutely nothing she could find wrong with my practice and setting but they had to put something and thats all she could think of.

I have just read you post, so thought I'd add my thoughts. I got satisfactory, but the wording was really good, and very complimentry.
I think I would have preferred a good grading though. I think if parents look at your profile, theyre more likely to call than someone with a satisfactory.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I feel alot better about it all now.

Also....Tribal had made a huge mess up as the report I received to read through was the inspectors initial notes! I did wonder why it was rather short and blunt!!

So after she had managed to let me have her actual report it read better. Still not overly positive but alot more fleshed out.

Did you do a SEF? What grade did you give yourself?

I was umm'ing and ahh'ing about putting satisfactory as I'd only been doing it for 3 months or just aiming high and putting good. I went with aim high and she didn't question it.....BUT I think if I had put satisfactory she would have given me that, if that makes any sense?

I hadn't done the sef when I was inspected in Sept. The Inspector didn't have the slightest problem with it. however I had plenty of written evidence showing how I reflect on my practice.

This inspector didn't like my planning and said I didn't use next steps to plan when it was clear that I did. She loved my LJs and said they were among the best she had ever seen!

I got an overall good with 2 areas of outstanding which was an amazing considering the inspector I got!
