Had my inspection in September and received an 'outstanding'.

Things have happened since then and I've lost track of time really.

End of October and I had to have emergency surgery on an umbilicial hernia that suddenly became strangulated! I'd had the hernia for 2 years with no probs and then after going to the docs one evening, that same evening had to have an op. Couldn't childmind for 4 weeks (been back for last 2 weeks).

The same week I had my op, my Mum was diagnosed and has had surgery for breast cancer. She starts chemo and radiotherapy next week.

Then one of my neighbours went into hospital and sadly died last week. For the past 3 weeks I've been feeding her cat every morning and evening, and then had to find a new home for her and somebody gave her a home on Friday thankfully. I would have done but already have 3 cats myself.

Sorry to ramble on but I've just gone on to the Ofsted website and read my report again and realised that if you get an outstanding you're meant to get a letter from the Director of Education and permission to use the Ofsted outstanding logo.

Just wondering how long this has taken for anyone else gettting an outstanding and I haven't received this.

Thanks.

It can take up to 4 months, well it did for mine. If you don't get anything by the end of Jan then give them a call.

From what I remember mine came through pretty quickly this time, within a couple of months anyway. You should get a certificate with outstanding on it as well as the disc with the logo on.

Miffy xx

Mine took months to come through I'd give it a while yet.

Crikey you've been through it a bit recently :( I hope things settle down for you in the new year xx

My inspection was in September and logo cd and letter arrived a few weeks ago so don't worry yet.

They normally do an award ceremony too, although not sure if they are happening now, last time it was too far away for me to attend, but I did contact them and ask for my goodies to be sent on and I received a badge, mug and bag a few weeks later  I hope they still do the badges at least.

Hope 2012 is a better year for you and everyone is well. :)

Gosh, hope you have a more relaxing time of it from now on! :)

I got my outstanding in May 2010 and didn't get a mug/badge just a certificate and the permission to use the outstanding logo. I never got invited to a celebration meal either. Do they still do these things does anyone know?

Apparently award ceromonies have been axed due to cuts  I was invited to one for my 1st outstanding but not my 2nd. Logo info took ages 1st time, but was quicker 2nd, think it dependes on when you have inspection and they send out in batches :D

OP You really have been through the mill, lets hope life calms a bit now, obviously chemo is not pleasent for Mum but sending her (and you) possivitive vibes x

I've asked Ofsted if they are giving out badges this year and they are not :(
