Hi all,

I am about to give birth to my second child (due last saturday). I sent off for a variation to keep the children I have in my care after my second is born, I spoke to ofsted but they said they could not process until baby arrives?!?

The variation is for me to have 4 under 5 on certain days and apart from 2 days, the times I will be over isn't long.

Has anyone been in this sitaution and were they allowed to do this as it was their own child who is putting them over the numbers? I would like to keep the children I already care for and don't want to let the parents down.

If anyone could advise I would really appreciate it and would put my mind at rest for a while!

Thanks

Clair

As long as you are not exceeding the maximum of 6 under 8s (inc your own), I imagine Ofsted will look at the request favourably.

How soon after your baby is born do you need the variation for?

And best of luck on your pending birth :)

I really hope so! I would like it to start in January if possible.

Thanks for your advice.
