I had my inspection nearly 2 months ago, and my report still is not live. I have emailed ofsted and they told me to contact prospects who have told me to contact ofsted grrr.
I have had problems at my boys previous school, with the teachers being inadequate and a bunch of teaching, education, and organisation issues - but I cannot report it to ofsted as they are not interested in hearing about individual children.
I tried another time to report a teacher who was locking children into cupboards, but because it was not my own children ofsted were not interested.
So ofsted no longer do the inspections, accept no responsibility for their website, do not accept complaints about individual children, do not accept complaints that are not about individual children so what's the point in them??
Anyone?

Seems no one is singing from the same hymn sheet any more. The world is alive with technology, emails, phone, faxes, yet for some unknown reason they seem to lack basic communication skills.
I have a bit of an issue with the inspections. My friend and I registered at the same time, she had her inspection a few weeks before me and got a a good and I got a satisfactory. We both had different inspectors and when looking at what she has compared to me we were both baffled... She has hardly even started any LJ's when I have complete up to date linked to EYFS scrapbooks with photos and next steps.
It is crazy that your entire business is graded on ONE persons opinion who sees you for a few hours once every 3 years. There is no clear structure and when looking for advice and guidance you get transfered to about 6 different people just to be put through to the first department you spoke to in the first place before saying "Thanks for all you help, but I think I will look on line and ask my question in a forum where I will get a straight answer!" - *ahem* anyway lol, back to your point... Is there any point in any of it, if no one knows what they are doing?

Agree its a joke really
It all depends on which inspector you get as to what grade you get...its ridiculous. Childminders are told different things by different inspectors and some of the stories I hear on here are laughable. Im sure my 9yr old dd could do the job better.
Im due an inspection soon and got a good last time. I have worked my ass off and always go above and beyond and basically if I dont get a better grade this time I'm just not going to bother anymore...:panic: :(
If I get a stupid comment I'll probably throw the inspector out
I know if I do get a better grade I will have earnt it...so i'll be happy
I bet they are quick to act if someone complained about 1 of us but cant act on comments about a school

Now here is a darned good question...
what IS the point of Ofsted......?
answer on a postcard, to be drawn at random and the winners prize will be......extra inspections by several inspectors who will give you several different answers ....
that really is a mystery of life... the point of Ofsted..... the POINT of Ofsted... does Ofsted have a point or purpose......
nope... sorry no matter how you phrase it the answer isn't any clearer

It's such a Shame isn't it when you put so much work into it, I have a cm friend who is a fantastic cm, her paperwork is so spot on, the lo's she looks after she's had since babies and are now 2 and 3, does lots of courses and is up to date with everything but she was devasted she only got a good on her inspection, I know a good is great but she worked so hard for an outstanding, but as she said you do everything they ask and then ofsted move the goal posts, so true.
