Evening All
Is it compulsory to have a fire risk assessment by my local fire brigade - I am based in croydon. I registered back in 2006 is this a new thing? OMG so worried I am going to get in trouble now:panic: .

Many childminders have taken advantage of the fire brigade visit to check over the house and fit free smoke alarms. They give lots of advice about fire safety and getting the children out of the house safely which is useful for your emergency planning as well.
It is not a compulsory visit in England - however I understand that it is in Scotland.
Hth :D

I phoned them up when I got registered, and they only advised me on the phone. They don't normally come out for visits here.
